The U.S. Census Bureau released on April 9 a downloadable file with estimates of the nation’s resident population by single year of age and sex as of July 1, 2025.

These updated figures provide insight into the demographic makeup of the United States, which is important for planning, policy-making, and research across many sectors.

According to the Census Bureau, additional data releases are planned in the coming months. These will include housing unit estimates for the nation, states, and counties as well as population estimates for cities and towns. The agency also plans to publish further breakdowns by age, sex, race, and Hispanic origin at various geographic levels including metropolitan and micropolitan statistical areas and counties.

Population estimates for Puerto Rico Commonwealth and its municipios by age and sex are also scheduled to be released in future updates.
