A hotel in Addison that has been closed for several years is set to reopen as a luxury property following extensive renovations by Centurion American Development Group. The former Crowne Plaza at 14315 Midway Road, which closed in April 2020 due to financial challenges and repair needs from weather damage, will be rebranded as Hotel Dax.

The project includes nearly 32,000 square feet of redesigned meeting space, four new dining venues, a resort-style pool, and a TopGolf Swing Suite. These features are intended to attract both business travelers and local residents. The Dallas Business Journal reported that the hotel’s opening is expected early next year.

An LLC linked to Centurion acquired the site in August. Addison, with about 18,000 residents, is recognized for its concentration of restaurants and steady corporate activity.

Mehrdad Moayedi of Centurion American Development Group said: “There is demand for higher-quality meeting and event space in Addison,” adding that Hotel Dax aims to provide more options for the community.

Centurion has previously redeveloped other hotels in the region. It led the $255 million restoration of downtown Dallas’ Statler Hotel, reopening it as a luxury destination in 2017.

For the Addison project, Centurion fully renovated the interior while keeping much of the building’s exterior structure intact—including its glass ceiling—according to a company spokesperson. Merriman Anderson Architects handled interior design work, and Dreamscape Hospitality will manage operations.

Dining options at Hotel Dax include Top Brass (an American bistro), Bar Dax (a social and sports bar), an outdoor pool lounge available for locals and private events, and Brewed (a coffee shop with grab-and-go items). The hotel will also participate in Marriott Bonvoy’s global loyalty program.
