Governor Greg Abbott has appointed Neyma Figueroa to the Texas Energy Reliability Council. Figueroa will serve on the council for a term that lasts at the discretion of the Governor.

The Texas Energy Reliability Council was created to help ensure that energy and electric sectors in Texas are able to meet essential human needs, address concerns about critical infrastructure, and improve coordination and communication within these industries.

Neyma Figueroa is based in San Antonio and works as an attorney and senior counsel at Valero Energy Corporation. She is a member of the State Bar of Texas and The William N. Sessions American Inn of Court. In addition to her professional work, Figueroa volunteers with organizations such as the Valero Texas Open, San Antonio Academy, and First Presbyterian Church of San Antonio.

Figueroa holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science and Philosophy from New Mexico State University and earned her Juris Doctor from Baylor University School of Law.
