Governor Greg Abbott has appointed Summer Webb and reappointed Aimee Burnett and Sonja Clark to the Aerospace and Aviation Advisory Committee. Their terms will expire on September 1, 2029. The committee supports Texas’s economic development by helping attract and keep aerospace and aviation jobs and investments in the state.
Summer Webb, from Valentine, is the deputy director of Launch Site One and serves as Government Relations Director for Blue Origin in Texas. She is also the Mayor of Valentine, represents rural communities on the Rio Grande Council of Governments, and is a member of West of the Pecos Texas Cattlewoman. Webb holds both a Bachelor of Business Administration and a Master of Accountancy from The University of Texas at El Paso.
Aimee Burnett, based in Southlake, is vice president for F-35 Business Development at Lockheed Martin Aeronautics Company. With over 24 years at Lockheed Martin in engineering, operations, and business development roles, she has also served as vice president for Integrated Fighter Group Business Development. Burnett sits on the Executive Board for Southern Methodist University’s Lyle School of Engineering and is a board member at the World Affairs Council Dallas/Fort Worth. She earned both her bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering and master’s degree in systems engineering from SMU.
Sonja Clark from Amarillo leads Bell Textron’s Military and Commercial Aircraft Assembly and Delivery Center. After starting her career as a registered nurse and administrator, she moved into aerospace in 2006, holding leadership roles across several departments including environmental health & safety, human resources, and integrated operations. Clark serves on boards for organizations such as Amarillo Area Foundation, West Texas A&M University Foundation, Texas Association of Community Colleges, Amarillo Chamber of Commerce, High Plains Food Bank, and Laura W. Bush Institute for Women’s Health. She previously led both Panhandle Texas Nurses Association and Northwest Texas Healthcare System as board chair or president. Clark received her nursing degrees from West Texas A&M University.
The Aerospace and Aviation Advisory Committee plays a role in supporting growth within one of Texas’s key industries by providing guidance that impacts job creation statewide.
