During their discussion, Governor Abbott outlined Texas’ investments in advanced manufacturing capabilities and highlighted its leadership in artificial intelligence, defense innovation, semiconductor capacity, and the global aerospace and aviation sector. “Ambassador Whitaker thanked Governor Abbott for his work to ensure the United States and its allies stand strong against bad actors.” Both parties stressed the importance of maintaining partnerships between Texas and allied countries to bolster national security.

The group also addressed Texas’ energy landscape, noting that an all-of-the-above approach has strengthened it further. “Governor Abbott also discussed the state’s efforts to lead the nuclear renaissance and highlighted the creation of the Texas Advanced Nuclear Energy Office and the Texas Advanced Nuclear Development Fund to incentivize the development of nuclear energy in Texas.” The ambassadors agreed on how vital robust energy generation is for powering industries such as defense manufacturing, artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, and semiconductors.
