Governor Greg Abbott has designated October 3-10, 2025 as Manufacturing Week in Texas, recognizing the contributions of the state’s manufacturing sector to economic growth and job creation.
“Thanks to our manufacturers, ‘Made in Texas’ has never been a more powerful brand,” Governor Abbott said. “It is a symbol of freedom, opportunity, and innovation that can only be found in Texas. As the manufacturing capital of the nation, Texas is where today’s products are made, and tomorrow’s technologies are brought to life. Manufacturing Week reminds us how important it is to continue strengthening our workforce by providing new career opportunities for Texans as we build a bigger and better Texas.”
Texas’ manufacturing industry plays a significant role in the state’s economy, which now exceeds $2.7 trillion and ranks as the eighth largest globally. The sector continues to contribute to job growth across Texas, with recent data showing the state’s economy expanded by 6.8% during the second quarter of 2025. For 23 consecutive years, Texas has led all states in exports and remains the top exporter of high-tech goods and semiconductors.
Governor Abbott recently marked progress in pharmaceutical manufacturing with Eli Lilly’s announcement of a new active pharmaceutical ingredient production facility in Harris County.
Manufacturing Week aims to spotlight career opportunities within industries such as aerospace, pharmaceuticals, biotechnology, automotive, and others that drive innovation and employment throughout Texas.
