Holt Lunsford Commercial has begun construction on Carter Crossing, a major logistics park in south Fort Worth. The Dallas-based developer is building the project at 6901 Wichita Street, covering more than 1 million square feet across 83 acres. Construction started this week and is expected to be completed by August 2026.

The development will include three buildings: one measuring about 705,000 square feet and two others at 163,000 and 143,000 square feet. Holt Lunsford acquired the land from Garrett Family Partnership in 2022, with Comerica Bank providing financing for the project.

“South Fort Worth’s industrial market is incredibly dynamic right now,” said Matt Carthey, partner and managing principal of Holt Lunsford’s local office. “You’ve got a Class A industrial environment around us, but zero impediments to get you to I-20. That’s going to be a huge play for us.”

Nearby companies such as Continental Tire and Conagra Brands have expanded their logistics operations in the area recently. Although leasing activity has slowed—with net absorption in the south Fort Worth submarket at 376,000 square feet in the third quarter compared to about 530,000 square feet a year ago—demand remains strong and could lower vacancy rates below nine percent if trends continue.

Holt Lunsford previously developed the Everman Trade Center nearby, a 450,000-square-foot facility that marked another successful project in the corridor.

According to Hutton Lunsford, chief investment officer of Holt Lunsford Commercial, Carter Crossing aligns with the company’s statewide growth plans. The firm currently has projects underway throughout Dallas-Fort Worth, Austin, and Houston. In the DFW region alone, nearly $1 billion worth of development activity is ongoing.

North of Fort Worth, Holt Lunsford recently finished three buildings totaling about 451,900 square feet of industrial space; one of these has been leased by Relogistics Services—a Houston-based third-party logistics provider serving retailers like Walmart.
