The International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers (IAM) Women’s & Young Workers Department has opened registration for two upcoming leadership programs aimed at supporting women in the union. The Women’s Leadership Program will take place from March 1 to March 6, 2026, and the Advanced Women’s Leadership Program is scheduled for March 15 to March 20, 2026. Both events will be held at the William W. Winpisinger Education and Technology Center in Hollywood, Maryland.

The Women’s Leadership Program is intended to encourage union members to become more active within their local chapters and districts. It focuses on developing leadership abilities and offers training in organizing, parliamentary procedure, political and legislative involvement, strategic planning, and building professional networks.

For those who have already completed the initial program, the Advanced Women’s Leadership Program provides an opportunity to further develop these skills. Participants will continue learning about leadership development while expanding their knowledge in organizing, parliamentary procedure, political engagement, strategic planning, and networking.

According to IAM, “Women’s Leadership Programs equip IAM sisters with the tools and confidence needed to lead effectively at every level of the union and to strengthen solidarity across our membership.”

Details regarding tuition, transportation arrangements, and curriculum are outlined in the official call letter distributed by IAM. Registration must be submitted using the Departmental Program Registration Form.

The deadline for registering for the Women’s Leadership Program is January 21, 2026. The deadline for registering for the Advanced Women’s Leadership Program is February 11, 2026.

Members seeking additional information or with questions are encouraged to contact the Women’s & Young Workers Department at 301-967-4747.

IAM encourages eligible members to participate in these educational opportunities as part of efforts to build a stronger and more inclusive organization.
