The International Labor Communications Association (ILCA) will hold its biennial convention in New Orleans from November 18 to 20, 2025. The event will include community service activities, networking receptions, the ILCA awards ceremony, and a series of panels and workshops. The theme for this year’s convention has not yet been announced.

The ILCA is an organization that supports labor communicators across North America and is affiliated with the AFL-CIO. DeLane Adams, Assistant Communications Director at IAM Union, currently serves as Secretary-Treasurer for the ILCA.

IAM Communications Department members have received recognition at previous ILCA Labor Media Awards Contests. This competition is noted as the largest and longest-running event highlighting achievements in labor communications.

Recent winners from IAM Union in the 2024 ILCA awards include Angela Colaizzi, who received the Max Steinbock Award for “NLRB Takes Down Union Buster.” Ashley Mumford and the IAM Journal Team won third place for Best Print Publication with their Summer 2023 issue of IAM Journal. Ross Olson was awarded third place for Best Design – Single Issue Publication.

Past conventions have provided opportunities for attendees to exchange best practices with other labor communications professionals from across North America.

Registration for the upcoming convention is open to all interested parties; membership in ILCA is not required to attend.
