The Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) has approved a total of $1,396,137 in penalties against 43 regulated entities for violations of state environmental regulations. The enforcement actions cover several categories, including air quality, industrial hazardous waste, industrial wastewater discharges, multi-media cases, municipal solid waste, municipal wastewater discharges, petroleum storage tanks, public water systems, sludge management, water quality and water rights.
Additionally, the TCEQ executive director approved penalties totaling $279,423 against 88 entities on Nov. 25, Dec. 2 and Dec. 16.
