TCEQ approves over $470K in penalties for environmental regulation violations

The Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) has approved penalties totaling $344,765 against 23 regulated entities for violations of state environmental regulations. The commission issued agreed orders in several enforcement categories, including air quality, industrial hazardous waste, industrial wastewater discharge, municipal wastewater discharge, petroleum storage tank, public water system, sludge, and water quality.

Default orders were also issued in the categories of multi-media, municipal solid waste, petroleum storage tank, utilities, and water quality.

Additionally, on July 29 and August 5 of this year, the executive director approved penalties amounting to $126,988 against 44 entities.
