TCEQ approves over $570,000 in penalties for environmental violations

The Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) has approved penalties amounting to $457,872 against 13 regulated entities for violations of state environmental regulations. The enforcement actions include agreed orders in several categories: four related to air quality, one for industrial wastewater discharge, two for municipal wastewater discharge, one involving a petroleum storage tank, one concerning a public water system, and two related to water quality. Additionally, default orders were issued in the categories of multi-media and petroleum storage tank violations.

The commission also reported that, on September 30 and October 7, 2025, the executive director approved further penalties totaling $115,746 against 36 entities.
