TCEQ issues over $2.8 million in fines for environmental violations

The Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) has approved penalties amounting to $2,360,925 against 25 regulated entities for violations of state environmental regulations. The decision was made during a meeting held on September 10, 2025.

The enforcement actions covered several categories, including nine cases related to air quality, one case involving industrial hazardous waste, one concerning industrial wastewater discharge, two multi-media cases, one municipal solid waste case, one municipal wastewater discharge case, two petroleum storage tank cases, six public water system cases, and two water quality cases.

Additionally, the TCEQ executive director approved further penalties totaling $448,340 against 118 entities on August 26 and September 9.
