The Texas Real Estate Commission’s Education Standards Advisory Committee (ESAC) convened on January 12, 2026, to introduce new members and outline its agenda for the coming months.

Three individuals joined ESAC as new members: Alisha Austin and Mitch Rainey, both license holder members, and Roxie Glenn, a public member. The committee’s leadership thanked them for their willingness to serve and support real estate education efforts in Texas.

During the meeting, officers were elected for the year. Bill Steddum was chosen as presiding officer (chair), Cindy Baas as assistant presiding officer (vice chair), and Paul Silverman as secretary.

A key focus for ESAC in the upcoming months will be a review of sales agent education requirements. This initiative will begin after a job task analysis is conducted by the licensing exam vendor for the Commission. According to the committee, “The job task analysis, which will be performed by subject matter experts and psychometricians, will identify the most relevant knowledge and skills required for today’s real estate professionals in Texas.” Once this analysis concludes, ESAC plans to examine both the structure and content of pre-licensing courses.

Due to the expected duration of the job task analysis process—which is anticipated to take several months—the committee will not hold an April meeting. Instead, substantial discussion is scheduled for their next gathering in July.

Upcoming meetings are set for Monday, July 6 at 10:00 a.m., and Monday, October 5 at 10:00 a.m.
