The Texas Real Estate Commission has announced that a revised version of the Information About Brokerage Services (IABS 1-2) form is now mandatory for use starting January 1, 2026. The update follows the implementation of Senate Bill 1968, which takes effect on the same date.

Senate Bill 1968 introduces a non-representation status and requires written agreements in certain circumstances under The Real Estate License Act (TRELA). As a result, the IABS notice has been updated to include language reflecting these legislative changes. Additionally, descriptions of contact information within the form have been adjusted to match current terminology.

Another significant change is the removal of references to subagency in the IABS notice. This modification comes as subagency is eliminated from TRELA by Senate Bill 1968.
