Travis Overall has left his role as head of Brookfield Properties’ Texas region to become the managing principal of Cushman & Wakefield’s Houston office. The move was announced by Cushman & Wakefield, a Chicago-based real estate firm. In his new position, Overall will oversee the local advisory business, which includes more than 250 employees and about 60 brokers. He will also be responsible for a property management portfolio covering roughly 34 million square feet.

Overall’s duties at Cushman & Wakefield include leading recruiting efforts in Houston and reporting to Chris Hipps, the company’s executive regional director for Texas. Before joining Cushman, Overall managed all aspects of Brookfield Properties’ Texas operations, including leasing, property management, development, construction, and accounting. Brookfield is recognized as Houston’s third-largest commercial real estate owner with approximately 10 million square feet across various asset types.

Prior to his tenure at Brookfield starting in 2017, Overall spent nearly two decades at Hines working on acquisition, disposition, development, and management projects totaling over $2 billion in Class A commercial real estate. He has also held leadership roles within several Houston civic and industry organizations such as NAIOP Houston and served on boards including those for the Texas Medical Center and University of Houston School of Architecture Advisory Council.

At Cushman & Wakefield, Overall succeeds Clint Bawcom who left last summer after four years in charge of the Houston office to lead Transwestern Real Estate Services’ local operation.

Cushman & Wakefield has been expanding its presence in Texas over the past year with multiple high-profile hires across Houston, Dallas, and Austin offices.
