Actor Trevante Rhodes has sold his riverfront property in Spicewood, near Austin, according to public records. Rhodes is known for his roles in “The Predator” and the Oscar-winning film “Moonlight.” The property, located at 3719 Bee Creek Road, was sold off-market to an LLC connected to New Western, a Dallas-based house-flipping investment company led by co-founder and President Kurt Carlton.
The sale price was not disclosed. Public records indicate that Rhodes purchased the property in 2022 when it was listed for $1.5 million. The land covers 2.4 acres along a branch of the Colorado River and is valued more highly than its three-bedroom, three-bathroom house built in 1998. Travis County appraises the land at $1.1 million and the home at $700,000.
The property’s location and size make it suitable for redevelopment into a luxury residence. Waterfront homes are prominent in Austin’s high-end real estate market. In 2025, the top publicly recorded sale was a 3.17-acre estate on the Colorado River north of Bee Cave with an asking price of $16.9 million. Rhodes’ former home is about ten miles from another notable riverfront property—the Bond House—which director Robert Rodriguez sold last year after listing it for $7.9 million.
Rhodes acquired the property during Austin’s real estate boom driven by growth in technology industries. Recently, however, Austin has seen significant declines in home values compared to other large U.S. markets; since its peak in 2022, average home prices have dropped sharply according to Zillow data (https://www.zillow.com/research/). In the third quarter year-over-year comparison among metro areas with over one million residents, Austin experienced an 8.2 percent fall in median home price to $416,000 while nationally prices rose by nearly five percent.
Emma Stone also recently sold her Tarrytown mansion after listing it for $23.5 million.
