A local physician in Weimar is inviting residents to participate in the town’s first anniversary Walk with a Doc Texas event. The initiative encourages community members, patients, and their families to join Dr. Duchicela and other health care professionals for a walk where participants can ask questions and receive support during the activity.
Walk with a Doc Texas is part of a national nonprofit program designed to promote physical activity and healthy living. In Texas, the program is supported by the Texas Medical Association (TMA). According to organizers, participation in the event is free and does not require preregistration. Information about upcoming walks will be made available on the chapter’s Walk with a Doc website.
The TMA represents more than 59,000 physicians and medical students across Texas. Headquartered in Austin, it includes 110 component county medical societies statewide. Since its founding in 1853, TMA has focused on improving health outcomes for Texans.
Funding for Walk with a Doc Texas in 2025 comes from the TMA Foundation, with additional support from TMA Insurance Trust as well as contributions from institutions, physicians, and their families. More details are available on the TMA Foundation website.
