Wyndham Hotels & Resorts has entered into a branding agreement with the Choctaw Nation of Oklahoma, adding four of the tribe’s casino and resort properties to its global hotel portfolio. The deal includes Choctaw Casino & Resort in Durant—located 90 miles north of Downtown Dallas—and three other resorts in Hochatown, Pocola, and Grant. All four will join Wyndham’s Trademark Collection.
Under the terms of the agreement, the Choctaw Nation will maintain full ownership and management of these properties. Wyndham will provide distribution services and access to its loyalty program but will not operate the resorts. According to reporting from the Dallas Morning News, this arrangement allows the tribe to leverage Wyndham’s marketing reach while preserving control over operations.
The combined properties offer nearly 2,000 rooms. In the coming weeks, they will become available through Wyndham’s booking channels and accessible to members of Wyndham Business, a travel program for corporate clients and small businesses.
This partnership is part of Wyndham’s broader strategy to expand through affiliations rather than building new hotels or acquiring existing ones. As stated in company materials, “As the world’s largest hotel franchising company by number of properties, Wyndham has increasingly leaned on its Trademark Collection to attract independent and regionally strong hotels looking for branding, marketing and loyalty reach without giving up control.”
Wyndham President and CEO Geoff Ballotti said: “The affiliation checks travelers’ boxes in a number of ways, creating distinct experiences.”
Chief Gary Batton of the Choctaw Nation commented: “The partnership elevates the guest experience by pairing Choctaw hospitality, culture and entertainment with Wyndham’s global recognition and loyalty ecosystem.”
Industry observers note that this move reflects changes within tribal gaming real estate as operators focus on destination-style resorts designed to attract leisure travelers nationally.
